Leia Organa (Leia Skywalker) was born on the planet Polis Massa shortly after the fall of the Galactic Republic. Due to the dangerous circumstances surrounding her parents, Senator Padmé Amidala and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, Leia was separated from her brother Luke Skywalker shortly after birth for their safety.
